Celebrating Canada’s rich legacy of Art Deco in its multiple forms of expression

In Canada – as in countries around the world – Art Deco figured prominently during the 1920s, 1930s and into the 1940s. This distinctive style enlivened the design of buildings, posters, fashion, furniture, cars and radios, as well as contemporary painting and sculpture.

We acknowledge with respect the history, spirituality, and culture of the Indigenous Peoples on whose traditional territories we live and whose ancestors signed Treaties with our ancestors. We recognize also the Métis and Inuit whose ancestors shared this land and these waters. May we all, as Treaty People, live with respect on this land, and live in peace and friendship with all its diverse peoples.
